I’m from a coastal nation so seafood has always been a big part of my life. There are a lot of misconceptions that people have about seafood: “It’s all expensive”, “It’s hard to cook”, “The eyes are freaky”. Those people are wrong, and I’m here to show you how you can easily and affordably add some fish to your diet.
Serves 1
Ingredients
- 1 salmon fillet
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 thumb of ginger
- Chunk of butter
- Parsley & Oregano*
*If you have any. It’ll work perfectly fine without them.
Get Ready
- Frying Pan
- Baking Tray
- Knife
- Spoon
Method
- Lightly oil the baking tray and place the fillet on it, skin side down.
- Cut a few strokes into the flesh of the salmon then chop the ginger and garlic. Turn the oven up to 220°C/425°F/gas 7 to get it ready.
- Heat up the butter in the pan and add the chopped ginger and garlic
- Sprinkle some parsley, oregano and pepper on the fillet then spoon on the garlic butter from the pan. Try using the spoon to rub it evenly into the cuts.
- Stick the baking tray in the oven and fuck off for 15min. When it’s done it should flake beautifully when prod it with your fork. Crispy skin, buttery flesh, happiness. You’re welcome.
